Nimb Hotel

København, Danmark

Nimb hotel is a quiet little oasis in the middle of the bustling Tivoli in Copenhagen. The Moorish-inspired palace first opened its doors in 1909 and has been through many changes since then, last in 2007 when the property had a complete make over and was transformed into the fabulous hotel it is today. Nimb is an exclusive boutique hotel with personal service, exquisite food, and beautiful antique furniture set in striking contrast with sleek Danish design and spectacular architecture.

A night at Nimb will set you back a little more than a regular Copenhagen hotel, but let there be no doubt - this is the best hotel in Denmark.

Nimb has only 17 rooms on two floors. Even the standard rooms are spacious and come with beautiful bathrooms and an open fireplace. The decor is mix between clean Scandinavian lines and antique furniture replete with Moorish legacy. Hard wood floors from Dinesen and bathroom tiles in granite from the Swedish island of Öland provide an exclusive touch. The property might be old but rooms are equipped with modern facilities such as iPhone docking station from Bang & Olufsen and Nespresso coffee machines.

When it comes to picking a room, a Junior suite might be a wise choice. They are 40-55 square meters in size with an open fireplace, freestanding bathtub, antique working desk and a little sofa group. If you want to go all out, Nimb’s executive suite might be the room for you with 133 square meters of luxury on two levels, with butler service and a private terrace facing the Tivoli gardens.

All rooms come with amenities from Aesop and the world’s best bathrobes!

Let there be no doubt, this is the best hotel in Denmark.

Food & Wine

Nimb has focused on gastronomy since 1909 and that benefits the hotel guests today. The experience starts with breakfast where you can enjoy a buffet consisting of yoghurt with fresh fruits or granola, freshly baked rye bread with local Danish cheeses and cold cuts. The buffet, freshly squeezed juices and coffee a-la-carte are included with your room and if you want pancakes or an omelet, you can order those as an extra. If you are good, you will manage to stay away from the cinnamon buns, but we didn’t…

Nimb has four restaurants. The Brasserie is open for lunch and dinner. Make sure you try their delicious sandwiches on rye bread for lunch. The Vinotek in the basement offers antipasti and a great selection of wines by the glass. Bar’n’Grill located next door from the lobby is the house steak house and it also open for lunch. The hotel flagship when it comes to food is Nimb Terrace and its located within the Tivoli itself. Try their “cookietable” during weekends, you will not regret it.

Even though there is plenty of good food the highlight of the hotel is still the bar in the grand ball rom on the second floor. Grab a couple of lounge chairs, sit down in front of the gigantic open fire place and you have found the best place in Copenhagen for a romantic evening.

The only thing Nimb is missing is a spa, but rumors tell us that one is under construction and it will include a Turkish hammam. Until it is finished you can visit nearby spas that the hotel has partnerships with, just ask the reception. The hotel has a small gym in the basement but you can also use a nearby full scale gym.

Nimb hotel is literally located in the middle of the Tivoli and tickets are included with your room. During summer season you can enjoy the concerts arranged in the Tivoli from the terrace outside or even from your room if you open the window.
